Ready to be Dads

Family

Our immediate families live 90 minutes apart from one another in Massachusetts (Ian's family) and New Hampshire (Nick's family). We each have one brother and one sister-in-law.

Family is important to us. We are both close with our parents and siblings. While we love being in California, we do miss our families back East, so we visit at least two to three times a year. Video chatting makes the distance seem shorter, and even allows us to play peek-a-boo with our two-year-old nephew!

We’re excited to be dads and know that the time is right for us to begin our family. We will raise our child in a family with a lot of love, learning, respect, silliness, and creativity. Our parents have served as role models for us in this regard.

Our parents and siblings are very supportive about us becoming dads. When we told them we wanted to adopt everyone was very excited. Our child is going to be blessed with adoring grandparents and enthusiastic uncles and aunts.

Holiday Cheer:

The holidays are important to us, which is why we have developed annual traditions with friends in California and family in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Thanksgiving: Ian and Nick host a potluck in California with friends who can't make it home for the holiday.

Christmas: Our immediate families live 90 minutes apart. This allows us to visit both families for Christmas. In the past we've spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with Nick's family and Christmas evening with Ian's family. We love seeing everyone that day. And we look forward to creating a tradition of our own.

Easter: Ian and Nick host a big brunch for our friends in California, after which we head to the park (weather permitting).
