All About Henri

Henri is a sweet and curious little boy. As soon as he was old enough to hold his head up, we nicknamed him “sponge” because he’s always taking in everything around him. He loves trips to the playground, especially where there are things he can climb on. He likes taking rides on his push-trike around the neighborhood, and will stop mid-game to check out trucks and construction sites.

At home, he likes pretend cooking in his play kitchen and pushing cars and trucks around. Henri loves music and dancing. He does a really cute rendition of “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” but he also enjoys dancing to classic punk from bands like the Ramones and the Violent Femmes.

Since he was six months old, Henri has shared a nanny with a family down the street who have two little girls. The older girl is Henri’s best friend, and the two of them can chase each other around the couch endlessly. Now that she’s in preschool, our nanny watches just Henri and five month old Edie. Henri is great at bringing Edie toys and sharing his sippy cup -- even though she’s too little for a sippy cup! We know Henri will be a great big brother.

Henri loves swings and merry-go-rounds. We attended a wedding in Disneyland when Henri was just nine months old, and we could not believe how much he loved it -- he especially loved the Small World ride, and meeting Chip and Dale and the genie from Aladdin. We know that we’ll be returning to Disney before too long, and we’re sure Henri will only bee too happy to show his little brother or sister around.

Every night before bed is quiet time, with a song or two, and two or three books. Good Night, Gorilla and The Snowy Day are currently two of his favorite books.
