Ian pursues a number of interests, from art to analysis to marathon running. He loves attending the ballet, which is a new interest, as well as cheering on the Patriots on the footbal field.
Ian grew up on the north shore of Massachusetts, where his earliest summers were spent at the beach, swimming and exploring tidepools. In the winter, he and his brother excitedly greeted the cold weather so that they could go sledding, build snow forts, and go skating at the pond.
We both enjoy cooking, but Ian takes extra pride in his willingness to experiment, sometimes playing Iron Chef with whatever he can find in the fridge. Thankfully, his "hits" outnumber his "misses." Ian began cooking with his mother early on -- she encouraged his cooking and passed on her Italian specialties.
Ian works in the San Francisco Budget Analyst’s office, which has found him at the center of San Francisco political life. His passion is art, though. He has an art studio near our apartment where he paints still life and figure paintings in a dramatic and energetic style. He started drawing at an early age, and looks forward to coloring and finger painting with our child.
Ian’s dad is a former jogger, and in the past few years Ian got into marathon running himself. He has now completed four marathons and recently achieved his longtime goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Ian also enjoys watching football and soccer. The park down the street will be a perfect place for kicking the ball around with our child.
